Mother’s Day at Dark Woods, with Kate Fox

We are partnering with Huddersfield Literature Festival to bring you something special for Mothering Sunday. Dark Woods is one of this year’s Festival venues and we are hosting the brilliant stand-up poet, comedian and writer – Kate Fox.

Kate is Stand Up Poet, Kate Fox, coming to Dark woods on 6 March 2016regularly on Radio 4 and occasionally on TV. She has written and performed two comedy shows for Radio 4 called “The Price of Happiness”, which has just been commissioned for a second series. Her poetry residencies have included: Saturday Live on Radio 4 from 2007-14, the Yorkshire Festival, 2014, the Glastonbury Festival 2013 and the Great North Run, 2011. She also writes topical and personal pieces for Standard Issue magazine and was a columnist for The Journal newspaper for four years.

Kate has also led many participatory arts projects and school and community writing projects and sometimes runs spoken-word gigs and projects. Her obsessions include solo stand up performance, Northernness and how comedy and creativity can turn the world upside down – or keep it still. She has never gone viral apart from when she’s had a nasty cold. Kate’s website.
