The Fragile received 4 stars across the board in The Guardian, Mojo, Uncut and Songlines with their cover of Teardrop voted best cover of 2012 in The Guardian and also ‘Best Band of Cambridge Folk Festival’ and an invitation to perform on BBC 6 Music’s Cerys Matthews show. The song Gentleman Jack was chosen by Sally Wainwright as her theme tune to the BBC/HBO drama Gentleman Jack.

Shadows (2016) received 5 star reviews in The Guardian for the album and the album launch. Described as ‘England’s answer to the McGarrigles’ the album received high praise across the board with songs such as Beryl, Colne Valley Hearts, Made in England and The Pixie.

Cloudheads (2023) is the duo’s latest album, described as “distinctive, inventive and exceptional” by the AMUK. Their song The Ballad of Anne & Ann is a duet with BAFTA winning actress and singer Suranne Jones. The album has garnered much interest partly due to the subject matter as it tackles hefty topics such as autism, the life of Polly Nicholls who met her demise by a serial killer, and the power women can have if given enough space.
